The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for severe heatwaves, predicting temperatures to soar up to 44.5°C in various regions. This alarming forecast comes as 92 out of the world's 100 hottest cities are located in India, surpassing even the extreme heat of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Additionally, a yellow alert has been declared for the Delhi-NCR region on April 24 and 25, coinciding with moderate air quality levels reported on April 23. The unusual formation of a 'heat dome' over the country is raising concerns as heavy rainfall is also anticipated in different parts.
